Photoshop Dream Effect Tutorial

Ok, I haven't dont many, if any, photoshop tutorials. So I am proud to introduce the Dream Effect tutorial :)

This effect is so simple to achieve and wonderful to look at that I have fallen completely in love with it ;p.

This is just my method, as I picked it up somewhere during my many web travels, so there may be other ways to do it.

Now first we need an image, I will be using this one:

>>Image Link<< You can use that one, or you can choose one of your own photos.

Now Open up Photoshop, I am using 7.0 though I am sure it will work in just about all versions.

Duplicat your image by using Ctrl+J, or right clicking on the layer and selecting 'Dupilicat Layer'.

Making sure your copied layer is sleceted go to filter >> blur >> gaussian blur. Use a setting of 7.0 and click ok. No set this layer to lighten. (right click on layer >> blending options >> lighten, or use the dropdown at the top of the layers window)

Now reselect your background layer NOT the layer you just blured, and again copy it. Drag this 2nd copied layer so it is abover your 1st copied layer. it should be your 2nd copy, 1st copy, then your original image. Go back to gaussian blur (filter >> blur >> gaussian blur) and again use a setting of 7.0. This time set the layer to overlay (right click on layer >> blending options >> overlay, or use the dropdown at the top of the layers window)

And there you go, you have a dream-ified picture

Now you can edit them image and add some text, ect; Here is what I came up with:
